Junior Full-Stack Programmer
ABOUT THE ROLE
Pirate Labs, founder of ahoy! Email, is seeking a detail-oriented and creative dev nerd with 1-2+ years of web development experience to join our team. You will be responsible for working with project managers, designers, and other developers to execute in-house and client projects such as custom Wordpress and Shopify websites as well as applications. Some of these will be ground-up, new projects, while others will be updating existing projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
We’re seeking a candidate who is able to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly-evolving startup environment where executing on multiple projects simultaneously and autonomously is status quo. The right candidate is a hard-working and motivated programmer who is also eager to learn. Especially important is an eagerness to work with clients to learn how we can make their lives better with code, and a desire to work across the organization and contribute to the company’s overall vision, culture, and growth.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience in multiple Object Oriented programming languages, such as JavaScript, Python, and PHP, is required. Of course, HTML/CSS experience is also required. Experience building websites on platforms like Wordpress and Shopify is a major plus. Experience with AngularJS and other Front-End JavaScript Frameworks, such as React and Vue, is a plus.
Qualifications/Requirements
- 1+ years of object oriented programming and design (JavaScript, Python, PHP, etc.)
- 1+ years of experience with front-end web development (HTML/CSS)
- 1+ years of experience with Wordpress and E-Commerce platforms such as Shopify and/or BigCommerce
- Experience with micro-frameworks (ie, Django or Flask)
- Experience integrating APIs and cloud deployment
- Proficient in Git
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Creative, curious, and eager to join a small, “all hands on deck” team
- Must love food, goofing off, and team outings
Not required, but a strong plus
- 1+ years of mobile development experience (Android/iOS)
- 1+ years Python Experience
- Experience working on web, mobile and desktop clients
- Experience working with cloud systems
- Experience with Linux OS
